Markku Pitkänen appointed as CEO of Sisua Digital

The Board of Directors of Sisua Digital Oy has appointed Markku Pitkänen as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Pitkänen will assume his role on March 1, 2026.
The CEO transition is part of Sisua Digital’s long-term plan to further develop the company in line with its current stage of growth. In recent years, Sisua Digital has transitioned from a startup into an internationally operating scale-up company, and the organization’s structures have been systematically strengthened to support this development.

Markku Pitkänen brings exactly the kind of experience and perspective that fit this phase of development,” says Peter Barkman, Chairman of the Board of Sisua Digital.
Markku Pitkänen has more than 25 years of experience in the technology and ICT sectors. Throughout his career, he has held a wide range of international leadership and business roles in software, digital services, and global operations. Pitkänen is particularly known for his ability to combine a clear strategic direction with determined execution, as well as for his skill in building high-performing teams in growing organizations. Pitkänen will also become a shareholder in the company.
“I am very pleased with the opportunity to take on the leadership of Sisua Digital in its next phase of growth. The company has a strong strategy, a highly capable team, and a solid market position. My goal is to accelerate growth and strengthen profitability in a sustainable manner together with the employees and the Board,” Pitkänen says.
The company’s founder and current CEO, Tomi Torri, was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in May 2025. Following the CEO transition, his primary focus will be on board responsibilities as well as selected strategic initiatives, such as key account sales, mergers and acquisitions, and financing, under the guidance of the Board and the new CEO.
“Nearly seven years as CEO building the company has been an intense and educational journey. I am very pleased that we can transfer operational responsibility to Markku at this stage of strong and profitable growth. I look forward to working with Markku to realize the company’s next growth phase, particularly in leveraging the significant opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and international expansion,” Torri states.
Sisua Digital’s strategy and strategic priorities will remain unchanged. The company’s core objective is strong and balanced growth, where revenue growth and profitability together form a competitive whole (the so-called rule of 40). Other key strategic focus areas include AI-driven automation, Automation-as-a-Service business model, growth in the Latin American market – particularly by leveraging nearshoring opportunities for North America – serving global enterprise customers, and pursuing strategic and opportunistic M&A.
